my pending swap.....

ok, im in heavy negotiations with a fella to buy his d16y8 swap. he's got some aftermarket stuff on it, and said that i can have whatever he isnt going to be able to use on his new b16...my question is this, would any of these parts be interchangable with a b16? quoth the seller:

"ok here is the deal. the engine is still in the car, waiting on new one to
get here. should be ready next week.

you get everything i cant use on the new motor. for sure these parts.
engine, (transmission), ecu, harness, axels, linkage, webcams camshaft aem cam gear

maybe these, header, exhaust, throttle body, air intake, plugs wires, vtec controller."

can he use any of that stuff in the "maybe these" section on a b16? im thinking maybe the vtec controller...and the intake.. possibly plug wires..any idea?

And then both of you guys w/ you sewing maching powered cars get passed by a moped w/ a 5hp Engine and he goes on to put 5 car lengths on you. Racing an EX vs a DX is like a 10 speed bike vs a golden retriever.

Your right. He can use the intake, the VTEC controller & maybe the plug wires.

Everything else is yours!

how much does an apexi vtec controller cost, and should i care that i probably wont get it?

Hmmm...

Most probably, he will find a way to keep his present exhaust system. (It warrants an extension.) In addition, since that APEXi VTEC-AFC costs $300+ , he will stick w/ it. (There's no way in hell that anybody would give up that VTEC-AFC... unless they step up to a something like a Hondata system.)

The CAI will need some modification to fit his B16. I think he's up to the challenge for this particular task.

Quick! Ask him what he plans to do with the new B16! If he wants a drag strip beast, recommend, "A TURBO!" Then, you can get all his sh*t!
