Check out this Eclipse

Pretty cool. Makes for a good sleeper.

Re: Check out this Eclipse

Thats awesome, you can't even tell theres a jet engine in there, at least until the 20 foot flame comes out.

Have you seen the jet-powered MR2 in OT? that thing was crazy, but the ebay pics dont work for me anymore. Not a sleeper like this one tho

Re: Check out this Eclipse

There's a sleeper. I like how it's still got the functional v6 as well. Although I bet the V6 just wouldn't feel quite as spunky after doing a couple open runs on the highway with the jet engine...

Any guesses on the top speed before it takes flight???

Re: Check out this Eclipse

I'd guess it could do probably 180-200 mph.

Re: Check out this Eclipse

Better fuel economy - I think jet fuel is cheaper than unleaded premium these days.

Re: Check out this Eclipse

Wing off a 727 is more like it.

I wish they showed how the jet got it's air, they show the hatch open, but the inlet to the turbine looks like it's in the passenger compartment.

So, if you turn on the A/C, does that constitute a cold air intake?

I think its perfectly street legal, except for this little excessive noise issue
ya im sure the cops are worried about the noise when you have a 20ft flame spewing out the back on take off when you kick on the afterburner...

id love to hear the conversation in the mall parking lots

SRT-4 Owner: ya its got a turbo, makeing like 8 pounds, is your eclipse turbo, i bet my turbo is bigger

Eclipse Owner: Nah i bet it isnt, im running about 800 pounds (thrust) before i hit the "afterburner" swtich. ive got a T-58.

SRT-4 Owner: naw dog, thats straight BS, man STFU dumbass listen to this shit, ill wax your ass
[cranks engine, spools turbo, ptshhhhhhhhh]

Eclipse Owner: thats garbage, not only am i faster my turbine is louder too

SRT-4 Owner: turbine? WTF its called a turbo, lets run em beyotch!

Eclipse Owner: man ill wax your shit with the engine off...literally

SRT-4 Owner: your straight retarded...

[they line up]

and we all know where this ends up. Crispy SRT-4...
