1999 stang vs 1995 integra

I am looking for a first car, and for a while I was looking for about a 1995-97 (what ever I could afford) but then a friend got a 99 mustang and I did not realise they were pretty low priced.

I have about 5,200 and I can save alittle more until I buy a car.

It seems like I can get alot newer of stang compared to integra. What do you suggest. Mustangs are alittle hard for me to see out of (5 6") but I would get used to it. I've never sat in an integra, how are they?

Thanks

a 99+ V6 Mustang and an older Integra GS/RS/LS are of similar performance and reliability. The Mustang is cheaper to insure though because its much cheaper to repair after an accident. Also, if it snows where you live, you'll want to get snow tires to be able to drive in the winter with the mustang, especially if you're a young driver.

Re: 1999 stang vs 1995 integra

Thanks. I heard integras in general were reliable, but I did not know a mustang was on par with them. Cheaper insurance is great. The integra is often stolen so I knew it was prettyy high.

Mustangs arent on par with an Integra in terms of reliability. Perofmrance wise their both not to special, unless you get a teg gsr. I'd try to drive both and maybe then you'll have a better idea on which one you like.

Hmm the reliability would make me lean towards an integra alittle more. I could afford like a 95 gsr, however I really like the mustangs looks more.

I will probally end up with a stang b/c they are more common and I could find a local one faster.

Thanks

Are you looking for speed, or what? If you live where it snows alot in the winter definitely don't go with RWD in your first car. Integras are much more reliable and last longer too.

Re: 1999 stang vs 1995 integra

It snows like once a yr. Tennessee. I do not need a really fast car. I want a good balance between looks and reliability.

The cars I LIKE are:

94- integra
94- 3000gt
99 mustang

For looks I rank them:

3kgt
mustang
integra

For reliability I rank:

integra
mustang
3kgt

Is this correct? I've ruled out the 3kgt b/c their transmissions are horrible, and I am leaning towards a mustang right now.

Thanks

Re: 1999 stang vs 1995 integra

remember, the Mustang will be 4 years newer than the Integra, that counts alot for reliability.

Mustang. 4 years younger = less maintenance down the road, all things equal.

Re: 1999 stang vs 1995 integra

that looks really nice&clean.

i'd have to agree with shnailpower on that one tho. They're just so stupid... the only thing they do is ruin aerodynamics. btw, i didn't realize that cardomain whores are even worse than myspace whores
