1995 GMC Jimmy Backfire, blows muffler

1995 GMC Jimmy SLE
4.3
4x4

First had trouble with starting, backfiring etc...
Changed Fule Pump
Pump Sending Unit
Coil
Fuel Filter.....

Then the Catylitic converter goes....
Cap + Rotor

Plugs
Wires
O2 sensors (Both)
+more

Took it to a local shop (VIPAUTO) Drove greate, for a few weeks..took it on a 200+mile drive...then it started backfireing when accellorating (passing) on the way home...stopped for gas. When I left the parking lot it would hardly accellorate, even when on a nomal road....

took back to shop....they changed the Distributor Unit + Cam Pos Sensor

Drives and accellorates fine when engine is still cold. Starts kind of funny sometimes...

...NOW...

When I drive it for a distance of 30 Miles or so (when it gets up to temp) and it comes under load...say going up a hill...the engine boggs down and starts to missfire, then backfires....TWICE destroying the muffler...no one can seem to figure out what is causing it...some say timing chain, but others are saying it cant be that....

Any Ideas?

search on this forum and the Chevy Blazer forum:

nut kit
cpi
washing

don't continue to drive it this way or you'll go through another cat and sensors.
