Yeah, it sure does.....especially when driving an RSX!!

I know what you mean - it's been twenty years now since I graduated Trinity.....can't believe it!

Did you study botany at UMASS? I sometimes wish I had - people think I'm wacked, but I love working with my plants. Didn't realize that passion until later, though, while living in s. Florida.

What does this have to do with Cold Weather Performance? I don't know!!

Re: Cold Weather Performance

Meh...we tend to wander in and out of topic here anyway. I studied Plant and Soil Science- which is pretty much practical botany. I love my job because it's also my hobby. The kicker is that it actually PAYS WELL. And how many people can say they look forward to going to work every day, eh?

Re: Cold Weather Performance

I'm going to take this to IM. I don't want the mods to start cracking down...

Damn few, myself included. Working with a bunch of panicky, whining women in Public Health sure isn't included in my list of looking forward to......only the drive to and from.

What sort of business do you work for? University? Feds? And how much education would I need to get there?

On the Cold Weather topic, we've got plenty of it here. Snow - again. I just hand-washed and debadged my car yesterday......it was so pretty - for a while, at least. Damn thing really makes a lot of noise when it first gets going - rattles, I mean. And I wonder if I have a bad strut mount. Hard to say since my last car was a lot quieter in general and I don't have any yardstick for RSX performance other than what I read here.

Re: Cold Weather Performance

Yeah- I just washed yesterday and, looking out the window now it's a white lump. Didn't realize all the tiny scratches that damned snowbrush had caused until yesterday. I'm going to need a good buff/detail job in the Spring. I hate winter...

Re: Cold Weather Performance

Yeah, that and those "brushless" car washes. Necessary evil, as I see it.

What do you do to buff yours out? I have never done much beyond using a wax with a mild cleaner. One of my cars was black and that stuff always left swirls. Maybe that's just how black paint is - nearly impossible to get perfect and shows every imperfection.

Re: Cold Weather Performance

What's up guys? I'm back. New question. I recently took a trip down to Philly from NJ and at one point when merging onto a highway, I was climbing through the gears and around 3rd, it felt like a slight slip at around 3,000 RPMs... Like a split second loss of acceleration. I've seemed to have felt it a few more times during accelerations... Any ideas?

Also, quick question. When does the Maint Reqd begin to flash for 20,000 mile service? I'm at 18,500 and it's doing the five or so flash at start up...

Re: Cold Weather Performance

Hmm.....I notice that the power curve isn't very smooth all the time in my Base ('02 - 39K miles). I attributed it to the ECU and VTEC.

Re: Cold Weather Performance

I was getting a "bump" at ivtec engage for a couple days but attribute it to low oil pressure. A blip under acceleration at 3000 though? You don't think it could be the clutch slipping, do you? Was the heat on? Were you punching it pretty hard when it happened?

Re: Cold Weather Performance

No heat. If it was the clutch, I'd be pissed. Since I have 18,500 on an '04! I wad def pushing it pretty hard since I was merging onto a highway from a pretty small merge lane...

****Edit: Possibly had on defrost. Never have it on too high though...
