Computer problems....

Well, after much searching and replacing, we have come to the conclusion that somehting has shorted out on my computer. Does anyone know where I can get another one? I replaced the injector to find out that nothing was wrong with the old one, the computer was not grounding it. We traced the ground wire to the computer, and found out that nothing is wrong with it, the computer is just not grounding it.

It is only one injector, the #2 injector is not firing. We have checked everything, but it all points to the ground. We found the ground at the computer, and we jumped the ground wire straight from the injector to the computer, so we know nothing is wrong or shorted in the wire.

There's click to be heard when:
- ECU gives pulse
- coil is ok
- gnd is ok
- harness is ok
- injector needle works.

Is there?

If u mix injectors 2&3 wires, any change in the "click"? If the dead one 'moves' to #3, problem is coming from ECU.

Have u cleaned ECU connectors?

Given that a fuel injector pulses {grounds on then off} once every 5.0 milliseconds during cold start, how are you checking injector grounding?DONOT short injector wire to ground at ECM or injector driver damage will ocurr.

I checked all of that, and when I switched the plug to another injector, then that one went dead instead of the other one, that is how we came to the conclusion it was somewhere in the computer.

Still one question: does ECU receive full 12V?

That means: has main gnd point been serviced, ECU relay contacts cleaned? If ECU is starved (well always lives on the edge, does not need much to tumble doen) it will do any thing.

Scenario: If ECU pwr supply was gradually starved, voltage goin' down, then at one stage first one component would stop working, after that another an so on... In this case one of the injector solenoid drivers (FETs, Thyristors whatever).

Get fresh gnd & +12V wires from battery to ECU just to tst. If problem still persist, time for swap.
