Turbo Sizing for a B18B1
Ok, I'm in the market to put together a turbo for my '99 Integra LS (B18B1) and need some advice. I'm looking for a turbo that will spool fast and give me most of my power down low and midrange running 50% - 75% of redline, as this car will be a daily driver. I would also like to be able to boost between 8-12 PSI while on the current stock internals while eventually beefing them up and pushing the boost closer to 20 PSI. Will this be possible? The T3/T4 hybrid comes to mind as it does for many other boosted teg owners. However, I am faced with the decisions of which trim size and A/R ratios will best work for me. Would I want to have a smaller or larger A/R ratio for the exhaust housing compared to the compressor housing? And what sizes come to mind? I'm new to all of these turbo specs and am teaching myself to calculate pressure ratios and airflow and to read compressor maps. Any help? Thanx.

All righty then. When reading a map, its for a specific trim size, right? How does that relate to the variety of A/R sizes availble on these same turbos? Or am I just confusing terms and have no idea what I'm doing. If so p-l-e-a-s-e t-a-l-k v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y and walk me through this. |

Re: Turbo Sizing for a B18B1
if you want a fast spool you will want to go with something like a t3/t4 57 trim .48 a/r if you want a little more power per lb. of boost then go with a .63 a/r
I got a B18A1 that I am going to boost with a 57 trim 0.63a/r and it should be perfect. If you need help with getting parts drop me an e-mail: [email protected]

Re: Turbo Sizing for a B18B1
if you want a turbo that has a fast spool up, and low end power, you'll want a turbo that has a effeceny range of 300cfm's or lower. so look at the smaller gerret turbos, t3's and 14b. A/R housing of .46 or less.
