Question 96 eclipse suspension.

Alright, I'm back. Dispite my last thread, this one actually poses a question about "performance".........

I want to upgrade my Suspension, currently OEM (of cousre).
I was thinking about Installing KYB AGX high performance adjustable shocks.
Is there really a difference between the KYB AGX high performance adjustable shocks and the KYB GR2 high performance replacement shocks besides the obvious (adjustable)?
Do you guys suggest any other type of Suspension?
I want to give my car an aggresive look but Improve the ride as well.
Can you guys help me pick out Lowering Springs (L.S.) as well. I'm really unsure what the best L.S. are.
Any suggestions are appreciated!
THX.

Re: 96 eclipse suspension.

the GR2's are only slightly upgraded from factory shocks, therefore they may not control bouncing as well and may wear out faster with drops over 2"

The factory shocks ARE GR2s.

I personally HATE my AGXs as no matter what setting they are on, they don't have enough dampening. Upon next replacement, I'll be looking into Koni shocks. Along the same lines, I have H&R Sport springs for a not to agressive drop, and they do well.

Re: 96 eclipse suspension.

Yeah, I Think Konis are the way to go. The off the shelf ones arent known to be very good though, as you raise the adjustment compression goes up, but rebound goes up like exponentially. OR so I've heard. I'm relatively happy with my tocikos, and theyve been good for 1.55s in my GC coilovers. The rears just dont last that long, about a year/35k miles. But shocks are consumables, like spark plugs, cant expect them to last forever. LAndo, maybe you can verify the rumor that I heard, the AGXs have been shortened an inch? The old problem was always that AGXs were 1" longer than stock 2G shocks, and we have like ZERO travel as it is. Thats been fixed I heard.

Don't know about that, Kevin, but I wish they would shorten the body an inch for the 1g as well. On full-hard settings, its like riding in a VERY fast wagon.
