Re: which is better

Do you have any idea what you just asked? The HKS recirculation valve IS a bov. Any BOV can be recirculating if you want it to.

Re: which is better

recirculated just means the air that is released by the bov from the turbo piping is put back into the intake side of the compressor and is recirculated through the system. The difference is that a recirculating system is quieter and you don't get a loud sound. Preference really. Wastegates work the same way.

vent to atmosphere BOVs will most likely cause stutter when shifting (ive heard of the engine stalling too but i think that has more to do with the spring) so the Recirculating Valve will be "More Better" unless you have a MAP conversion or know someone whos a Genius on a Piggyback ECU... but with the Recirc. you wont get the woosh sound which id bet means more to you.

[ HKS RECIRCULATION VALVE STD W/WELD FLANGE & GASKET. RECOMMENDED INSTEAD OF BLOW-OFF VALVE ON MAF CONTROLLED SYSTEMS ]

Like R.W.240 said, venting to the atmosphere may lead to stalling/stuttering when shifting, but it's quite an easy problem to fix with S-AFC... dunno about e-manage or just an ecu... :P

s-afc cannot fix this problem. the air thats dumped is already measured, no way a s-afc can compensate, cause the amount of dumped air is unknown.

there is another option tho: GFB Stealth-FX BOV. that one has the ability to recirculate, fully vent, or anything in between (in about 17 steps).
