Civic Hatch "Cold Air" intake
hey all, does ne1 kno how 2 make a cold air intake 4 the revell civic hatch? i kno that most cold air intakes usually leave the engine bay so the filter is away from the heat, but where would i reposition the filter to? I was thinkin of makin it go down, like near the CV joints (half shafts) and the suspension. is this right??
Sorry bout the long post, just wanted 2 b clear bout what i was sayin.

Most CAI units come to the front of the engine bay, usually at the top.
Most of the heat in the engine bay is lower down, so you want to be pulling air in from away from where the heat is. I'll find you a photo. Have a look here: Some good photos of where an how to position the intake: http://www.eliteone.com/civic/intake/step4.htm

Re: Civic Hatch "Cold Air" intake
Actually, Ray, the thing in the pics isn't really a CAI, it's just an aftermarket intake/filter that still takes air from the engine bay. A CAI is routed usually to a filter situated in a wheel well. Here's an example

It follows mostly the same route that the original intake does in the car, except it goes further toward the front and further down. In a Civic EX or Si, it goes through a hole in the body work into the space behind the bumper directly in front of the passenger side front wheel. On a DX it goes down between the transmission and said body work, and turns 90 degrees to go into the same space. For a CAI, all you will be able to see on a model is the tubing, and it just clear out of the engine compartment to where the air filter can get at some cold air. If that isn't clear, I can take some pictures of my car after the sun comes back up.
