Tamiya Peugeut 206 WRC
Hey guys, im really new to these forums, I have been building models for a couple years, but I always built them the way they look on the box, anyways, this is my first Tamiya model ( i dont even no if im spelling that right tamiya, taimya?) anyways, i was just wondering if i should make it like it looks on the box or make it a "street car" type thing,? any suggestions of what to do would be greatly appreciated.

Hello and welcome!
The Peugeot has been done as a street version a few times now, but if you'd like to do it as a street as well, go right ahead! Check out on the top right of the page, the "Search" button. Click on that, then search for something like "Peugeot 206" and on the drop down below the search box, you'll see a line "Completed and in-progress models". Select that and perform search. You'll find a lot! Also, check out the FAQ and the top of the page... lots of good info in there. And you got it right the first time... Tamiya!

Great thanks alot man, im pretty new to this, i have been on the modifiers forum, as i build modifiers, and i noticed alot of the guys talkin about the AF forums, and well i bought my model on the weekend and im just tryin to figure out what to do with it, do i have to buy tamiya paints or can i use my testors paints?

You can use testors, BUT if you do use Tamiya, you'll notice a HUGE difference. There's guys here who have spent huge amounts of money on Tamiya rattle cans (easily enough to justify an airbrush) or even have a good airbrush but still use Tamiya rattle cans. Very nice paint, very nice finishes, and they're easily polished (if you don't know what polishing is, check out the FAQ). If you polish your car, you'll be 100 times more happy with it.

First up welcome to AF
 Of course you can make a "Street Car" if you want! However, the 206 WRC is a rally car so making it "street" is pure fantasy. Build it as a competition vehicle I say! If you don't like the livery in the box there are aftermarket decals sheets available to build other versions. Whether you like Blue, Red, Yellow, White or Green, there is a 206 livery out there for you. Cars that actually rallied and have some history to them. If you really get into it you can develop your modelling skills and modify the basic kit to make it more accurate. But if you just like to build OOB that is cool too. All in all the Peugeot 206 WRC is a great kit of a multiple-championship winning car, you can't go wrong with it. I've built three of them so far and plan to do many more!

great, thanks alot guys, i really appreciate your help, i have seen a whole wack of people do them as rally cars, but has anyone done it as a "street car"?? i cant find n e pics. any help with that would be sweet

  This one is pretty good, but most of the time converting beautiful rallycars into streetcars results in an ugly mess IMHO.
