The headlights are off a W123 Mercedes, and do a better job of illuminating than the stocks did, also - they look better in person, the pictures make them look grey.

Re: WIP: Customer's Smallblock-powered Volvo 760 ("Volvord")

Body/interior/chassis thrown together, just need to get the wheels fitted and figure out how to get the motor in now. Got 90% of the way done a great looking 302, and then realized it was 1:25 scale and the car was 1:24, it looked tiny as hell... so here's the new motor! And some other pics...

Sweet!

Just a warning,
Hemis and 440s used Holley carbs.

That's why I said that.

Looking good!

I wonder how easy it would be to convert one of these to an estate?

Re: WIP: Customer's Smallblock-powered Volvo 760 ("Volvord")

Quick update. Got the wheels and tires on. Decided to go with two sets of front wheels from a Corvette ZR1--honestly the closest wheels I could find in my parts box, as the customer said he didn't want to buy aftermarket wheels. The long block also in place, and I've started detailing the engine bay, since the kit essentially has no engine bay detail...

EDIT: I'm thinking I need to paint the wheels a different colour tho, more of a silver grey...

asside from the crooked headlights, that is looking great. I love the mercedes headlights on the front end of that car, it makes it much less boxy looking. the motor looks right at home in there too!

Why didn't they stick with the EFI?
What's the exhaust system like, routing, mufflers etc.?
Cool swap, great car to duplicate!

Re: WIP: Customer's Smallblock-powered Volvo 760 ("Volvord")

headlights don't look crooked to me... I took the picture off-angle though, might be why you're seeing that... one of the smaller driving lamps is just a teeny weeny bit lower, actually...

You'll see the exhaust when I'm done fabricating it out of solder. It's complicated

And they don't use EFI because a carburetor costs $50 used, gets only slightly less gas mileage on a V8, and didn't require replacing most of the fuel system.

I was talking about the lenses themselves, the diffuser pattern should be horizontal. the housings are spot on and look great.
