91 Park Avenue TPS codes 21 and 22
I'm getting 3 diagnostic codes on my car after replacing my Ignition control module and Coil pack. THese fixed most of my problems but left me with 3 codes after resetting the system.
#12 Diagnostic #21 TPS voltage low #22 TPS voltage high I tried replacing the TPS sensor but this doesnt resolve the issue. I only have the Diagnostic key for flashing my Check engine light to display the codes and a multimeter. Could this be a problem in the wiring from the TPS sensor to the ECM? |

dtc 12 is normal and should appear before any other codes.
If the tps is new and properly adjusted than you should check the tps circuit wiring. |

Re: 91 Park Avenue TPS codes 21 and 22
I understand the diagnostic mode code is normal and the TPS is new but how should it be adjusted?

Re: 91 Park Avenue TPS codes 21 and 22
Without a scan tool the procedure is:
1.Ignition OFF 2.Install three jumper wires between the TPS and the harness connector. 3.Turn ignition ON. 4.Connect a digital voltmeter to terminals “B” TPS signal, and “C” TPS ground. Voltage should read 0.38 - 0.42 vdc. To adjust, loosen the TPS attaching screws and rotate TPS until voltage reads 0.40 vdc which is right in the middle of spec. 5.Tighten screws and recheck voltage. Readjust if necessary. 6.Ignition OFF. 7.Remove jumper wires and reconnect TPS. |

It took rotating the TPS competely over to one side but it's getting 0.41VDC now and my error codes are gone. Thanks a lot!
Now, are you any good with John Deere riding mowers? ![]() |

Re: 91 Park Avenue TPS codes 21 and 22
Glad to hear that it worked out. Never worked on a Deere. Wish I owned one.
