old dude's lude

my grandpa had some party today at his house, and i work next door. i was there today doing inventory updates, watching the buicks and oldsmobile's pull in, and then i see an old dude in a lude pull in. i went over and talked to him, and discovered it's a 96 vtec, 84k, manual, leather, has that goofy 7th speaker option, everything...

the guy was in his seventies. he needs to give that car up to someone like me oh well, props to the old dude i guess.

The 7th speaker is a JL Audio MicroSub, it goes between the 2 rear seats.

There was an old thread going about it in the Interior/Audio/Security forum http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...hlight=prelude

Here's a pic i took

wow, that looks exactly like mine except the 7th speaker. do you know anywhere where I can get this sub? also does the sub have it's own amp or is it connected directly to the head unit?

Bringing this topic back from the grave.

I got bored so i ripped the back seats apart to see wtf was actually in there.

Its not a JL Audio 6x9. Its an Alpine.

Yes, I'm quite sure Honda considered aspects of homosexuality while they designed vehicles.

Re: old dude's lude

The original demographic for Preludes were girls... and yet, how many of us now are girls?

Re: old dude's lude

how the hell do you figure the original demographic for ludes were girls??? i admit the car is graceful...but come on, a 200hp engine with a dual wishbone suspension, and most come with manual trannies...how the hell do you figure?? i understand the celicas look a little girlies (the lastest gen), but not ludes....

Re: old dude's lude

200hp is nothing, considering cars like the Mitsubishi Starion and Toyota Supra have been making over that mark since the late 80's. By the time the Honda Prelude came out with VTEC, most other companies have been in the field for several years. Now think back to the early to mid nineties, when the 4th gens were already out and Honda was in the process of designing the 5th gens. This was back before the height of ricer explosion. Consider the features that the Prelude has: Front wheel drive, Sportshift, ABS, all power options...

I'm not saying that Preludes are girly cars, or that demographics cannot change; which it certainly has passed on to the hands of younger male owners. I'm just saying that Honda had the intention of selling more Preludes to older and mature buyers, and females. It's an easy to drive car, with alot of luxuries.

*Shrug*

Well, I bought my car from a girl, if that means anything. (Hence, me needing to replace the clutch as soon as i bought it )
