Fuel Pump rewire for 2g awd

Ok I got everything i needed to do the fuel pump rewire on my gsx today. On the website i was reading from it was for a fwd. It's not till i got everything apart that i found that my wiring and the wiring from the instructions were different. http://www.raktron.com/fuel/rewire5.html Mine has a few more wires. I looked everywhere for instructions for a 2g awd and came up with nothing. Im pretty sure the thick black wire is ground, but when i checked the black w/blue stripe wire for voltage i got .78V, not even a full volt. I read somewhere that said it should be 11V before the rewire. I did check the voltage with the car running too. My question is which wires are the ones that need to be cut, and on the relay, which terminal does the positive from the battery go? Every 1g directions i read said it goes to the 30, but that one with the 2g said to it goes on 87. If anybody has some advice for me i would really appreciate it. Thanks

Re: Fuel Pump rewire for 2g awd

Im not sure i trust what hes saying he says hook up ground to 86 Ground, but on the diagram that came with the relay it says 85 is ground and 86 is the on/off switch and does it matter which way u hook up the 12V in and 12V out because i see a few people doing it both ways. As long as it works i guess it doesnt matter

Well I would do what it says there, and if it works great. (Which is should) If it doesn't just use another.

The wiring of the relay should be the same for FWD and AWD, just as long as you know what wires you need to tap into on the harness.

Re: Fuel Pump rewire for 2g awd

Well i got it rewired and it works fine, with constant 13.8 Volts at all times. I used http://www.raktron.com/fuel/rewire5.html for the wiring instructions for the relay. I was just thrown off by all the other yellow wires, which go to the fuel gauge etc. So it is the thick black wire for ground, and the black and blue wire for power. Hopefully itll help somebody in the future.

I'm glad you got things figured out.. Maybe you could draw up a little diagram for those who actually search for answers and attach it to this thread.

Happy Holidays. Scott

Re: Fuel Pump rewire for 2g awd

Please excuse the shitty paint job but it still gets the point accross. Remember when u cut the black w/blue stripe wire the part still attatched to the connector goes to terminal 30 and the left over goes to terminal 86. The left over ground isnt used anymore. The wire going from the battery to the relay i used 10 gauge wire. The ground connected to the chassis i used 10 gauge and the wire from the relay to the fuel pump connector ground wire i used 14 gauge. Hopefully thats not confusing
