Panel light dimmer switch fix 1966 GC

Might be of some interest as this seems to be a common problem.
Same set up on a number of years so it should apply to several models/years.

If your panel dimmer slide switch is inoperable or intermittent try this:

Remove the switch module - need to take of the instrument cluster trim panel and loosen a few screw at the driver side bottom cover to allow access to the screws holding the module in.

Remove the module - one connector.

2 screws hold a white cover on the back over the circuit board - remove them for access to the back of the circuit card.

If you know anything about soldering you can see that most of the solder joint on this card are bad, lack of solder or just look cold.

Reheat all the joints and add a touch of solder to them and it should fix the problem. Make sure you have nice shiny joints.

Will probably clear up other problems associated with this module.

I suspect the problem is with the joints leading to the wiring harness but there are not many there so I did them all.
