Talking My Road Trip to Fort Collins Colorado

Anyhow, just got back from my trip to fort collins, CO. Put about 2200 miles on the ride, got lots of pics, Took about 2 days to get there lol, but I did go pretty fast. I got from Napa to Salt Lake City in 9 hours. Had the cruise set around 90 the entire time. Anyways when I was in wyoming (crappy state, no offense to anyone who lives there) I decided to find out if my car has a limiter or not. Well I am happy to say it doesent. I took it up to about 120 and then backed off cause I saw some flashing lights up ahead (construction crew)

I did manage to snap this pic

Have you been to wyoming? The entire state is by my defintion, "the cuts" Anyhow, that pic was taken at approx 7:30 AM in the morning, with no other traffic on the road, and I could see for miles, so nobody was in danger of anything. Just wanted to clear that up before people like boingo82 and taranaki come up in here and whore this thread up with bullshit about speed laws.

Now that thats out of the way, I will post more pics of my trip later.

LOL, funny thing is I didnt have any service in NV, or WY. I had the cell in the cup holder, but when ever there was a cup in the cupholder, I had to relocate it to up there.

Yea, my trip was pretty cool, I got to check out Colorado State which is a pretty cool campus, I would never go there though, out of state tuition is 26k / year!! But I was well known on the 8th floor of Westfall Hall (dorm) by the time I left. Lots of girls, some beer, great food. Oh man, it was a good time. I went up there to visit one of my friends from high school who attends, shes gotten kinda homesick and wants to come back to CA. I had my quarter break and nothing better to do so I decided to mob up.

I might go again during 3rd quarter break (mar or apr, I aint sure) but probably wont. Lots of miles, cost about $120 in gas and then there is the $60 or so I also spent on food, a motel room, and an oil change (in wyoming it was being sluggish and my car was due, after the oil change I came to the realization that its the high elevation and not my oil)

Funny thing though, when I got to carlin NV (about halfway through NV) I stopped at a gas station and when I went to check the engine, some smoke came out which smelled like oil (I know cause my 73 MGB-GT had a blown headgasket) and I looked under and the car was leaking a little bit of oil. The engine was new at 100k miles, could it be burning oil already? I had the cruise set at 85 for about 4 hrs straight before I got to that station, could that be it? I also wont completely rule out the possibility that pepboys overfilled my car during the previous oil change. The midas guy (current oil change) said something about some main seal leaking, how hard would that be to fix?

Yea, take that sucka:finger:

Update on the oil thing, my dad said it could be that during one of the oil changes they spilled some and the engine hasnt had the chance to get hot enough to burn it off, and now its just getting gone, so that could be it too.

Depends on which main seal you are talking about...front or rear. The front is behind the crank pulley and the rear is behind the flywheel. The front main seal obviously would be much easier to change.
