Toyota Celica 1600GT 1970 complete pictures

Good Morning, Yesterday I finished my first car for the street section of this board. I've made nothing but race cars before that one.

The Celica 1600GT was a speed demon with a monstrous in-line 4 cylinders engine producing an incredible 115 hp. Scary indeed!

It's the hasegawa kit and as far as finishes goes, this is my best build so far, I'm very proud of it.

Looks superb. How did you paint (?) the Celica script on the side?

I used Tamiya ts-54 light blue, 3 coats and then I applied another 3 coats of ts-13 clear. I polished with tamiya abrasive paper (1500-2000 grit) and finished with Tamiya rubbing compound.

I didn't paint it. I just put the decal over the embossed logo and used microsol.

Wowee! I saw the first pic and thought, "Hmm, reference pics of the real thing... WAIT! "

Seriously, superb work as always. It looks just like the box art, and it is beautiful for that.

I have always prefered older toyotas over newer ones. This is a great "showroom" quality build.
