1998 Grand Caravan Power outlets

Simply,
The power outlets (front and rear) shut are off when the ignition key is off. This isn't bad but when the kids are using the outlet for their accessories and we stop to get gas etc, I shut the motor off. I'd like to modify this so that the outlets have power all the time. They will be fused! I'm thinking this is an easy modidication. Perhap either repositioning a wire or repositioning a fuse.

Any takers?

I think the outlets are hot in the accessory position of the ignition switch also. Allows usage with ignition off. Might save you a lot of work.

Re: 1998 Grand Caravan Power outlets

replace the 1" square relay in the PDC with part #82301039 from the dealer and it will change it from keyed to constant hot.did this to mine for charging the cell phone.it just pulls out and the new one pushes back in.I've heard of others using a jumper and getting the same results, but for me this was safer.

Earlyrizr's post has to be the best solution. Just make sure they kids turn off all their stuff before they get out of the car.

Earlyrizr's post was the best solution for me as well. The relay jumper cost me $8.56 and I installed it in less than a minute. Both front and rear power outlet are always hot. Thanks for the help.
