I have a dodge caravan. the fuse for the eingine in the fuse box under the hood blows the min you turn the key on.

Any ideas or wire diagrams available on line so I can trace it down.

Sounds like a short in the ignition switch. It might also be a starter-related problem - does it blow the fuse BEFORE the starter turns over or just when you move the key to the ON position?

It sounds like it has to be somewhere in the ignition circuit. You'll have to swim upstream in this circuit to find the true source of the problem. Check under the dash first, before you take apart the steering column - look around for loose or dangling wires. You'll have to look hard because under the dash is all about junction boxes (large clusters of wires connected together in large common plastic fittings. Sheesh, this could be a PITA, but keep the faith - Good Luck!

It was a short to ground in the main engine harness. Took a while to find it but got her fixed up good as new.

Was that under the hood in the engine compartment or under the dash?
