Buicks Hate Bosch!
Long story short. My Bosch Platinum plugs lasted about 3,000 miles before causing hesitation, stumbling and mis-firing cylinders.
Replaced plugs with AC Delco and car runs fantastic.... I never put much thought into the plugs while diagnosing the problem as I had just put on the new Bosch's. I checked fuel pressure, coil packs, ignition module, egr, map, etc...etc....etc... There are a few threads "talking up" the AC Delco parts for GM and they are definitely correct...I have never seen a car reject another brand of parts the way this Buick did. If you are having ANY hesitation, stumbling, surging or bucking....replace plugs with AC Delcos and save yourself some grief. Thanks all for your help....received a lot of good feedback so far as I am a new poster....hopefully won't be bringing any additional maintenance questions for awhile... |

Re: Buicks Hate Bosch!
Thanks for the feedback and you had a good lesson on the sensitivity of the Buick to foreign parts. It seems that we all have to learn the correct Buick maintenance routine the hard way, the first time!

Re: Buicks Hate Bosch!
Any thoughts about putting Splitfires and a hotter ignition system into a 95 LeSabre??

Re: Buicks Hate Bosch!
The first 95 olds I purchased had 60,000 miles and ran perfect so I decided to replaced the plugs, when the guy at the counter asked if I wanted platinum plugs I said no because the original plugs ran good for 60,000 miles and if thats what I'll get with them so at 128,000 I replaced those.I have owned 3 Olds and now have a Buick all with the 3800 Series 2 engine and I wouldn't put any other electrical part in any of my cars other than AC Delco.Just my opinion.
