Symtoms (blower resister)
I have a 97 GP GT 3800. I have a question. What are the symtoms of a blower resister that's bad or going out? All five speeds for my blower work however there doesn't seem to be a lot of air blowing out. Thanks for any input...

If the blower reistor is not working right, you will be missing speed's.Like 1 and 3 arent working or maybe all 4 dont work and if it's only 5
that's not working it's the ignition harness. Sounds more like a problem with the blower motor. You may want to pull it out and clean and lube it.You can then bench test it once you have done that to see if it helped. Hope this made since, ive got a cold. ~Larry~

To get to the motor, pull the kick panel and unbolt the motor (three screws). Pull the motor out, don't lose the rubber drain hose. Turn the motor upside down and apply some grease to the bottom of the shaft. Don't use WD-40, it's too thin. Others have also used regular motor oil to lube, I used some White lithium Spray Grease to make sure it holds. Then re-install, making sure you put the drain hose in place properly.
