Re: Turbo in a SL?

Yes, quite a few people have done it. It does require a bit of fabrication if you are planning to take the twin turbos from a vr4 and put them in, as well you will need a few other parts from a vr4, so a donor car may be necessary. If you just plan to add a turbo kit, the answer is yes. Just realize it is a FWD car, so traction will be an issue with more power.

-15Gs, 3sx aluminum pulley, FMIC, SAFC, walboro pump, EVO 560ccs, and Meth Injection Kit all waiting to go in shortly.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

what he said

also in mind, you cant run nearly as much boost on an SL due to the compression ratio of the pistons

With the higher compression of the SL one would only need low boost numbers such as 6-9 psi.....any higher u would be in danger of destroying your engine. Just my 2 cents

not if you know how to tune your car, i've ran 13 psi on my 10:1 plenty of times without knocking. If you dont know the techniques of running higher boost, then yea, you'll blow it up if you start running more than 8 lbs.
