How Important is ABS?

ok, so i understand the functionality of both power brakes and ABS, I was just curious to see what you guys thought of the importance of ABS. i'm currently looking to buy a 2001-2004 Dodge Stratus R/T, and for some reason they made ABS an option. i've been looking for about a month 1/2 and i'm really only finding cars with power brakes. should i hold out?

p.s.- i live in Dallas, so icy roads aren't really an issue...

I think its good to have ABS, all my cars are ABS-equipped
you just never know when you'll need it
there is also some insurance discount for ABS-equipped vehicles.

ABS is up to you

cars without ABS will apply the brakes RIGHT AWAY and the wheels will actually stop spinning if u brake hard enough

cars with ABS apply the brakes 18+ times a second.. having no chance of the wheels completly stop spinning..

just think.. ur on a wet/icy road.. then u dont have abs.. u brake.. and ur car is still moving.. with ABS ur brakes will slowly apply.. so ur car will stop sooner than without abs
