paint not sticking
i was painting my side mirrors two days ago and the paint wont stay on. when i brush on the yellow you can still see the gray underneath. what can i do?

Well for one thing a primer would help. Second you should spray the side mirrors. Brush marks are bad, especially for the exterior.

well i really dont want to buy a whole can of spray just for two small parts off of a tree. im still working on my CLK D2 from Tamiya. i guess ill try to prime it wen i get some primer. ive never painted the outside of a car before.

...and as you are painting yellow it's not easier. Yellow is one of thoose hard to cover paints, if you use Tamiya acrylics it shouldn't be a problem to brush paint the mirrors as you could put on a rather thick layer without any problem. This paint shrinks very much so you wan't loose any detail that way. With enamels and brushpaint you will have to go for many thin layers in order to cover the plastic and get an even finish.
