4x4 issue in 1987 S-15 Jimmy

Ok, so we just put a clutch in my 1987 Jimmy. 4 wheel drive worked before we removed the transfer case and tranny. When we put it back together, shifted the transfer case into 4x4, the 4wd low indicator light came on, and stayed on. What did I do wrong? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

What transfer case does it have.
Have you checked fuses and shift linkage and made sure everything is hooked backed up as was?

Baybe the low gear of transfer case is activated, so you can't go fast. Maybe because the transfer case gear cable is not weel atached on the lever.
