89 chevy pick-up wont start

89 Chevy 1500 acts as if running out of gas. Once motor stops, will turn over when cranked but will not start. Replaced fuel filter, relay & fuel pump. When key turned forward fuel pump wont turn on. What could be the problem?

Re: 89 chevy pick-up wont start

Check for voltage at the pump during initial key on (engine prime). If there is no voltage, try to trace back the wires. I have heard of faulty ignition switchs causing no voltage issues.

When the pump dies, do you also lose spark?
