I want to paint my engine cover red to get my engine bay looking better but i was worried about the heat buildup cracking the new paint. Is that going to be a problem or should i just forget about it.

Just use high temp paint and it will be fine. High temp paint is made for calipers, valve covers, etc. so it can definately withstand the heat.

I painted my engine cover with red engine paint and painted my calipers with the same damn paint. it's been over 10 months, no cracks, everything looks fine. A little dusty though.:toothless
