So i have a 1998 zx2 that hasn't started for about a month now. The engine turns but nothing happens.
I've used multiple forums to find what could be the problem and here's what i've checked so far regarding gas
the gas cutoff in the front and trunk
the fuel pump
the CCRM (constant control relay module)
I don't think it's a fuel problem because when putting fuel straight into the engine it still wouldn't start. And you can smell fuel out of the exhaust so i thought it must be a spark issue,
the plugs seemed old so i got new ones
checked and replaced the coil
I got an oil change right before my car started having trouble starting and finally it wouldnt start at all an in the garage it sits. The spark plugs had oil on them so I'm not sure if that's bad or not.
Also, before all this happened i had a leak with my radiator coolant so it overheated before i got that fixed...not sure if that will help with diagnosis or not.

So that's my situation, it's driving me crazy not being able to fix it so if you have any ideas i would be thrilled. Thanks

I would suggest checking the crankshaft position sensor or camshaft position sensor if you don't have spark.
Use insulated pliers pull a spark plug hold it against the block and check for spark.

Welcome to AF!

Are you getting power to the coil? If not, check the 15 amp engine fuse under the dash. If that checks out ok the ring on the back of the crankshaft pulley could have separated not allowing the CKP to pick up the proper firing time. If that is ok clean the wire connector to the CKP.

If the plugs are oil fouled do a compression check on the cylinders. The overheating condition could have ruined the rings. Surely, you've checked the plugs for fire, but if not do that before any of the above. Were the plugs oil fouled before you changed them? Are they oil fouled now?
If so, they won't fire.
