i have a 2000 trans am lt1. a few days ago it got quite cold here and i started hearing a loud scraping noise(almost sounds like sucking air) coming from the right front of the engine. some where around the tensioner pulley. i cant tell where.as the temperature outside get warmer it seams to make less of a noise. has anyone had this problem

A 2000 LT1?
Could be a bad bearing, I'd remove the belt and check all the pulleys.

it seems to be my tensioner pulley. looked on internet and all i see is ribbed pulleys, mine is a slick faced one. did they make a mid year change? my motor is a 5.7 liter

You might be looking under the wrong motor bud. 93-97's came with the LT1, the 98-02's came with the LS1. You have the LS1...if you're sure your car is a 2000.
