Took my car off the road for the winter. I am thinking about ripping my 305 tpi out. I got a good deal lined up on a lt1 outta a 93 camaro. I think my fuel pump should be adequate, everything else I have taken into consideration, onlything is I havent found much about the wiring harness. Im not sure if since I have tpi if I need a new wiring harness and everything else that goes with it. Input would be much appreciated as I have to act soon. Thanks

You will need the entire engine management system for the LT1. Also, 93's started using the 4L60e trans, you 305 has a 700R4 (4L60) is it's an auto, fyi.

Actually, the 93's had the 4L60 transmission. The LT1's didn't get the 4L60E auto tranny until 94.

Also, you will need an engine management system specifically for the 93 LT1. It would be difficult to mix years because there were things that GM changed from year to year. But the 93 is the stand alone year because lots of things were changed for the 94 models.

Do you think that 500 is a good deal for a running 93 lt1 wit 105,000 miles? I think he has the complete engine management system. So I can use my tranny then right? Motor mounts are the same also?

Don't know if that's a good deal or not, never really priced out an LT1 before, but if you do get it, I would change a few things on it while its accessible and out of the vehicle. Like, change the opti, new plugs and wires maybe, some longtube headers. Hell, you should get a stroker kit and make a 383 out of it.

$500 for the complete deal don't sound too bad to me. Albeit, I'd get a new harness anyway and save myself the eventual agravation soon to come with the old drying out stocker.
