Hi guys, I guess my car is possesed, my interior lights (cealing and map) are not working also the power door lock switch in both doors and keyless entry are not working and the back window defroster all went out at the same time. That was yesterday, I locked my car...then came back..and it wasn't working at all.

I have checked all the fuses, relays, conector and everything look to be working ok. None of the fuses are burned and I tested the keyless lamp relay and it was ok. any idea of what the problem could be?

heellpp me please!

That's what I thought, thank you so much for your quick response. One of my friend told me that too, "it should be the OEM alarm module" (smart entrance control module). According to my repair manual, everything that this module control is not working which are: warning chime, rear window defogger, power door locks, multi-remote control system, vehicle security system, interior lamp, battery saver control. and I didn't notice that my warning chimes weren't working at all...untill I read it. lol....thanks a lot once a again "Nismo Pilot".

have a nice weekend.

you too, there should be a fuse under the hood for the room lamp that feeds the power to the module, mine was popped because my module shorted, if all yoru fuses are good it could just be an internal malfunction.... if i can remember ill get you a price on one from work on monday

Oh that would be great! thanks a lot, let me know how much is it. Let me ask you another question, does this module has the frequency for the keyless entry control?....or it's just unplug the bad module, plug the new one?.

Thanks a lot once again Nismo_Pilot!

youll have to do a re-learn procedure for your keyfobs, and possibly your actual key. The keyfob relearn is super easy though

Problems fixed, I got a new OEM for around $190 (my friend got some extras discounts from the dealer) thanks God!. After installing it, I had to do the keyfod re-learn, really easy procedure. First make sure all the doors are closed, then insert in and out (three times) the key into the ignition switch and the hazards lights will blink three times, after it, insert the key to the ACC position and press any key on the keyfod, you are going to hear a few clicks from under the dash and to end the procedure just open the driver's door and that's it.

Everything is working now!, the lights were working as soon as I connected the new unit, the keyfod started to work after doing the keyfod relearn.

Good luck guys! thanks once again nismo_pilot!

I was having this issue on my 2000 Nissan Sentra GXE, checked all the fuses and found the room lamp fuse under the hood fried. Replaced it and everything worked fine. Before jumping to conclusions that it's the Smart entrance contrrol unit, check your fuses. It's not said anywhere but the room lamp fuse under the hood seems to be connected to the room lamp, door locks, and rear window defogger. Hope this helps
