Remote Programming Help Needed

OK...I bought a PK3 key and a remote from E-Bay for my newly acquired '05 Montana SV6. I cut the key and programmed it as per the instructions I found here...works perfectly. BTW, I am from Ontario and only had the one key originally, and the spare programmed just fine. In any case, now it's time to program the remote. Here are the instructions that came with it;

1. Remove key from ignition.

2. Remove the “BCM PRGRM” fuse from the fuse panel, accessed by opening the front passenger door. Use the legend on the fuse panel to properly locate the “BCMPRGRM” fuse.

3. Close all of the doors.

4. Close the liftgate.

5. Insert keys into the ignition, and turn the ignition lock cylinder to ACC (one click towards you – the opposite direction from starting the engine).

6. Turn the ignition lock cylinder to OFF, and then back to ACC within 1 second.

7. Open and close any vehicle door. A chime will be heard when the system enters the programming mode.

8. Press and hold the transmitter LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously for 14 seconds. IMPORTANT: After 7 seconds, a chime may be heard confirming successful synchronization. It is necessary to wait approximately 14 seconds for a second chime that will confirm successful programming. Your new remote has been accepted and all existing remote codes have been erased.

9. Repeat the previous step on each additional transmitter to be programmed (including any existing transmitters).

10. Remove the ignition key from the ignition lock cylinder.

11. Install the “BCM PRGRM” fuse back into the fuse panel.

As far as I can see...they are the same instructions that are on a locked sticky at the top of this forum for up to model year 2004. This is where I run into issues....I do not have a "BCM PRGRM" fuse in my fuse panel and my ignition does not turn "backward" to ACC position. So these instructions are not going to work for my 2005. Can anyone help me out with some updated keyless remote programming info for '05 Montanas???? Help, please!!!

I have an '06 Uplander which is basically the same as the Montana you have. I know that in '05 the igntions were changed and we no longer have that option of turning the key 'backwards' to ACC. It actually is the first position forward from 'OFF'. I'm going to check my owners manual in the morning to see if anything is said in there. i looked on the web quickly and came across this bit of info concerning programming an '07 model:
Transmitter Programming
Important: All transmitters which are to be recognized by the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR) must be programmed in a single programming sequence. If the system is placed in program mode it will erase all previously programmed transmitters upon the receipt of the programming signal from the first transmitter. Up to 4 transmitters can be programmed. Do not operate or program the transmitters in the vicinity of other vehicles that are in the keyless entry program mode. This prevents the programming of the transmitters to the incorrect vehicle.

Install a scan tool.
Use the scan tool in order to access programming: Vehicle Control System/Computer Integrating System/Module Setup/BCM/Program Key Fobs.
Press the START soft key on the scan tool.
Important: The scan tool must stay connected until all of the transmitters are programmed.
Press and hold the LOCK button and the UNLOCK button simultaneously on one transmitter. After a delay of 5-10 seconds, the scan tool will indicate that the transmitter is programmed.
Repeat the previous step in order to program up to 4 transmitters.
Remove the scan tool.
Operate the transmitter functions in order to verify correct system operation.
I don't know if this is applicable to the '05 and '06 models, but I will try to look further into it and post back if I find anything.

I asked my mechanics and they both said dealer only. The mechanics at the dealer said only they can do it with their electronic tools. I have a 2006 SV6.
