Just paid off the Wife's 2000 Trooper

I now will have a little extra money to make some minor repairs.

The 1st thing i want to do and need some help/advice with deals with the exterior appearance. I am at a loss for words with exactly what this is called but i will do my best to explain. It seems that every other Trooper that i see in Florida has the same issue.

On the bottom of the vehicles right below where the doors open between the 2 tires there is a tape or a stripe that is on top of the paint. It is discolored and when i try and remove it, it pulls up the paint.

What exactly is this called?

Has anyone ever had this happen to them?

Any advice on how to get the old stuff off and what to replace it with.

After that i will attack the driver side window that wont go up and down but that's just a case of getting the money.

I will try and post some pictures this week.

I just got back from a scratch and dent place and they told me my best bet was to go to an Isuzu dealer.

He called the part i am having issues with the "Rocker Moulding" and there are 4 separate chip protectors strips.
