Wheel/tire conversions

Searched but couldn't find specifics....
Going to have 265/65/17's on my '03. Looking to maybe go to 15's to get more meat on the rims. What is a good tire conversion to know what will fit without suspension/body mods.
265/65/17's don't offer any meaty off road options. Only the stockers. I see that 31's fit without any major mods. Don't mind trimming if it wont change things much. I'd like to get some meats on my ride. What rim/tire size is a good fit?

I use the stock 15" steelies. Cheap from Canada and solid.

Or find someone with the XE or SE 15(X7)" alloys. They are pretty good too. I run a set of M/T's and a set of A/T's on XE alloys. Try to find some 31"X10.5X 15Lt tires. Just a little bit of plastic trimming is all you have to do.

Shouldn't have to trim at all to run 31's on an '03. 32's might require some minimal trimming to the plastic behind the front wheels but not 31's.

running 31 x 10.50 goodyear mtr's only trimming was to the bottom mud flaps in the front, but i have an 01. the ride is a little bumpy at about 75 but i dont go faster than that anyways, tires have been a lot better than i though they would be.

You should have no problem at all finding someone willing to pay you some $ on top of a trade for their 15" wheels in return for your 17" ones. They are very much in demand with the non-offroad types.
