ok, i have a 95 explorer 3 codes came up today.
114 - IAT (intake air temp) out of range
327 - EGR feedback signal low (dpfe sensor?)
636 - transmission oit temp out of range.
let me explain my situation....
i was driving my explorer and then all of a sudden, from a stop light to acceleration it would not shift into 2nd gear... it was kinda like it was a stick shift and i was revving it in 1st..
well, i slightly let go of the pedal and it shifted fine. . . but almost seemed like 3rd gear instead of 2nd.
anyways, it does it permanently now, and so i have to drive it from stop to go for until about 3k rpm and then i slightly let of and itll shift. it is still dependable and all other higher gears shift smoothly(like when im on freeway passing someone) .
ive read tons of forums and people that have that problem have their transmission replaced, but their problem seems more severe( like they wont be ablt to get it out of first at all. )
PLEASE HELP ! ! ! i guess i can start by draining tranny fluid and replacing air filter? i have no idea. it seems like a transmission issue but who knows....
2 codes sorta deal with air. thanks guys!!!

Yes go ahead and change your transmission fluid, you may next want to check out your shifter cylenoid, I'm not any pro on automatic transmissions my 96 explorer is the first auto I've ever owned but i know some diff. things that can cause a tranny to go wacky. But those are the two caulprets that I'd take a look at first. and if you don't have one already which I'm guessing you don't I would install a tranny cooler on that. Then maybe try and cleaning your Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF).
