downpiperking828 07-23-2007, 09:22 PM im a little new to the supra family and i saw a divorced down pipe could someone explain what the deal is with that one of the smaller pipes is open one goes to muffler thanks TcmaBoy 07-24-2007, 01:37 AM It routes the turbine exhaust and the waste gate exhaust separately and merges them further down stream in the exhaust system. It reduces turbulence that could interfere with turbine flow. rking828 07-24-2007, 07:56 AM ok so is there any real benefit to having it that way and also the one i saw had the wastegete side open not connected on dow the line thanks alot for info TcmaBoy 07-24-2007, 11:33 AM There is, but it is more of a supporting modification. You have to replace the entire exahust system, including the manifold, to see much bennefit. The whole system must be set up to work as a unit. No one part makes much difference on its own. This is something to be done when upgrading the turbo. silversup 08-02-2007, 09:48 PM Definitely sounds good too if you have the one that routes the exhaust flow from the wastegate directly out. Well at least depending on how much air noise you like to hear. DDP is a good mod. I always tell folks, figure out how much power you want then start figuring out which mods to get.
