Problem Need help quick

Ok. i have a problem i have a 93 eagle talon 1.8 ya dinky little motor but its my get around car. i just fixed one of my problems the MAFS was bad. an its runing good at idle, but now wen i drive it. it drives good till i hit bout 30MPH an the check engion light pops up. but wen i start to go slower it turns back off. it seem to run better at hire speed, then at lower, im gussing it has something to do with my timing, but im not to sure. im new to DSM'S so help please. o ya one other thing what is that little light that kinda look like circus tent. just wonderin cuz it stays on. :banghead: an o ya i did i mention i have 2 days to get my car running good to go get my Emitions an plates

Pull the codes and see what's triggering the CEL. Autozone does it for free. Write them down and tell us. I believe that light you're talking about is the alternator light, but I don't have my repair manual readily avaliable, so I'm not positive, just guessing.

i dont think it the alternator cuz i checked that an its showing 14V, but i thought they could only do cars with the OBD II systems. an the light gose off after i slow back down

Not sure on the CEL, but I think you are talking about the coolant light. Let me find my drawing....

Yup thats the one so its my colant light, dose that mean its low

Pop off the radiator cap and see if you even have anything in there...

Ahhh, the dreaded coolant light, you're low on coolant. For some reason I thought that was the alternator light, but now I remember that that's red, not amber.
