lighting surge!

I have a 98 ZX2. When the headlights are on and you press the brake every light on the car dims terribly, almost completely. Autozone says the battery is fine and the alternator is fine too. Where should i look next the headlights, the alternator wires. Has anybody else had this problem?


Also when you hook a diagnostic computer up to the terminal it does not read anything, like the car has no computer. Can anybody help with this also? I would greatly appreciate it.

i used to have slight dimming of the headlights like that. i upgraded the big 3 and it fixed the problem.

Does the computer use the right interface protocol?

For the lights, check the grounds, making sure they are clean and secure.

i had a simaler problem but the sending unit on the alter. was going bad
