Insurance?

Hello
My uncle sold me his modded civic that I have been driving for almost a year now. My problem is I live in NJ and I cannot get car insurance at all. I went to register the car and they told me I needed insurance in my name in order to register it and get plates. My uncle had never added me to his insurance plan so they won't write me. I have contacted 5 other places and they all give me the run around or never return my calls, or I get excuses like oh we are understaffed and it will be a few weeks. So the car sits outside for the past month and I'm still without insurance. Anyone have a clue as to who would write an AKA new driver in New Jersey?

I'm in NJ and my father has the car under his name with me on the insurance. Since NJ is like the highest state for insurance, I gotta pay a little less than a grand, which is horrible.
