My buddy wants to hook up a basic NOS kit to his 01 civic and he wants to know whats the maximum amount of horsepower he should program the NOS to add before he needs to start upgrading the clutch and internals?

hmm, I'm not an expert on nitrous oxide but I've heard there are better kits to get then NOS. Your friend should research the subject expeditiously.

hey man, I went lookin for a n2o system on my 02 vic. i asked around and the max shot you can do it a 50. If you want more then you are gunna have to put bucu bux into internals.

*sigh* unless you plan on replacing the rods, rings, gaskets, and other shit you shouldn't even touch nitrous with a ten-foot pole. and even if you did that might i ask what's the point? $500 is not worth temporary forced-induction on a civic...
and Fangs is right, i've heard good things about Zex...

ive run the 55 and the 75 horse shot on my d16 with no problems at all, ive used it in every gear but first so far. Stock bottom end, stock head except the cam and cam gear, as long as your smart and dont go spraying all the time when you drive you shouldnt have a problem. Oh yeah get the zex kit....so damn easy to install it.

Ive been running the zex kit for about two years now and have had no trouble what so ever. All you have to do is get 2 stage colder plugs and retard your timing a bit (2-4 degrees). Here is a link for a 7th gen civic nitrous install. http://www.hondatuningmagazine.com/tech/0203ht_nx/
