Please help me with my temp & SRS lights

My mechanic could not figure out why the temp light stayed on in my 1990 vw cabrio. Changed thermostat, fan relay swith, radiator fine and not water pump. Ended up taking out the dash board to fix the light. Now, since the dash has been reinstalled, the SRS, air bag light, will not go out on the dash board. Can anyone tell me what they think it might be. Is there any well known reason as to why this light would come on and stay on, after the connections are worked on? Thank you
