ETS problem

I desperately need new struts installed on my 97 2.4L Auto so its a rough ride right now. Once in a while, i think when i hit a nice bump or something my check engine light will come on and whenever this is on the ETS won't work. I havn't got the codes read yet but i plan on it soon. Does anybody know what the problem could be. I'm hoping i only have to replace a sensor or something.

usually when the check engine light comes on, the trac off light tags along whenever it has to do with the drivetrain, do the lights stay on? if they just turn on for a little while then go away, It might just be the jolt of the bump, if thats the case, replace the struts, It's not good to be driving around with a susp. that rough, if that isn't the case then check the codes, there's something else going on
