high RPM

after a big snow storm. my 2005 sunfire RPM has been really high. in the park the RPM is at 1000 and in drive too when stoped at a light. the temp is 90. there is a noise coming from the engine right above the rade. under a black plastic piece. can any one help me

If it makes you feel any better my engine also idles at 1000 rpm. I haven't ever had a problem with my car it runs great. Once I start driving it goes to 1500 as it shifts up it goes to 2000 to 2500 depending on the speed and so on.

As for the noise make sure that there aren't any loose screws. The idling sounds fine though. Just my opinion though.
