how can i disable my governer and limiter? i have read a few posts on here and other sites and i have heard it can be done.

spend thousands on brakes and suspension. then trap quicker than 108mph in the 1/4mile. then I'll tell ya. you wont find the answer anywhere since it's a secret that's illegal. besides, if you can get your car to 108+ in the 1/4, you will know how to remove the speed limiter.

I'm not trying to be mean, but it's very dangerous and illegal. theres a reason for the limiter, and if someone tells you how to disable the safety features of your car, then they could be held responsible.

btw...4th runs to 125MPH or so in my car. I get scared in 5th at about 5000rpm. HEHEHE

:eek2: Wow thats crazy I didnt think 4th could go that far in these cars. I guess you must have switched your transmission too. If you didnt then I'm sure you must have the same complaint as me about 3rd in these cars.

the HO swap gives me a 7200 RPM redline taking my 3rd up to about 90mph and in the 3-4 shift at that speed, the car likes to launch a little sideways. 5th takes me above 130 or so (taken form a VW GTI 1.8t that hit limiter, and I kept accellerating) with some more power the only thing I'll be looking at is quicker 3-4-5 shifts in the straights.

That HO sounds like a pretty sweet engine, my 2.4 does pretty close to 90 in third too. I just dont like how tall that gear is with a stock engine it really slows down the acceleration when you have a gear that goes from 80 km/h up to about 140 km/h.

the HO is the father of the 2.4L. the wusses complained about the motor noise and vibration, so GM redesigned it and made it quieter, as well as taking away about 40+ HP. I am putting around 170HP to the wheels naturally aspirated, thus driving in the snow gets REAL fun. I am in the process of putting together a Stroker to go to 2.6L (roughly 250 WHP with just the motor) and adding a m90 Supercharger (takes me up to roughly 325 WHP) I like to go fast and since I like in the heart of racing country, I get to do several types of racing.

Awesome!! I wish I could do some stuff to my car but my priorities are right now are paying for me to go to college. Good thing these cars are still fun to drive stock :)
