question

i have a 2000 sunfire, 2.2l, 4 door. i was wondering if i bought a remote trunk and door opener, will it work or do i need everything , i seen some on ebay. just want to know if it would work or nor. i do have a black/white wiry going to the trunk release.

I seem to think that if you don't already have some kind of manual trunk release in the interior of the car, that a remote setup will not work. I just had a remote starter installed in my Sunfire and I asked for the remote button to control the door locks(which are electric) and the trunk(which has no interior release). The installer stated that without some kind of electrical device that releases the trunk, it will not work. They did say they could install an electric trunk release, but they are very expensive and usually not worth the cost unless you use your trunk quite often. So the remote start controler also locks and unlocks the doors, but I have to use my key to get into the trunk. Good Luck
