Check engine light

I have a 95' J30 and the check engine light comes on and off at will. The car seems to run alright. I need this car to pass emissions but of course it won't as long as that light is on....Now I have a diagnostics machine but I can't seem to find where to plug it in at. I've looked under the dash. Everyone I have talked to has told me that the plug is under the dash somewhere. But I cannot find it and it's getting very frustrating. If someone can help me please do so!!!

Your scan tool probabbly won't work, that car is not OBDII. you may find a grey plug like connector by your fuse box, that is for the dealer scanner to plug in .. that is a problem you probabbly going to have to take to a nissan or inffinit dealer
