How do I access the codes on a Kia Sephia? Check engine light is on and the car seems to be missing.

Take it to autozone. They scan codes for free.
BTW- Next time you start a thread, you could get a quicker answer by using a subject that pertains to the problem..such as "1998 Sephia Codes"

If it is misfiring you will probably get a code for 301 0r 303 misfire this either the number 1 or number 3 plug wire that is bad.
Pull the cover and pull the wires, if the wires look like they have lightning strikes on them they are bad.
I always recommend replacing the plugs also. The factory replacement wires are much higher quality than originals.
