Problem

I recently has my head gasket go on my car b/c the kids at mr. lube didn;t put my oil filter on right and there was an oil leak. So I had my buddy that always does the engine work on my car to do it. ($600 gasket) While the engine was apart he offered my for 300, 2000 dollars cams and heads. So i said yes he puts them all together rebuilds the engine, fixes my power steering, fixes my exhuast (loose) then installed an underdrive pulley, did all the computer work, no heres the problem...

As he started it the car ran and ran fine after about 10 minutes the car shout right off. he was looking around and the water pump pulley was previously shot so he fixed that now and new belt. Now the car wont even start. We think its the underdrive pulley messin things up, but the computer says its the knock sensor i think. Anyone else have a problem with there underdrive. Were going back stock today and see what happens. I dont really want to have to do a swap.

the problem was a broken starter. damaged wire on the coil. Coils fixed and the starters going to cost me 200

my friends car had a new head in stalled on her 93 probe and she was driving and then it just quite and wouldnt start, very similiar to what you are saying. it ended up being that the camshaft broke and the part was under warranty so it got replaced for free, you might want to check that.
