ShrockWorks Bumper

Just joined. Someone "front ended" me in a parking lot. Removed the front bumper thinking that the brackets might just be a little bent. That was a pain. Started thinking that maybe I should put something a little stronger back on, that way if someone "front ends" me again, they will be the ones hurting, not me. Has anyone heard anything good, bad, ugly regarding the ShrockWorks Bumper? It looks mean and that is what I want but it's a bit pricey.

Got to do something, can't even drive it right now.

Thanks.

I have heard nothing but great things about the Shrockworks products and Jim Shrake. I bought all my gear before Jim was building stuff for the Xterra, but I would certainly put his gear at the top of my shopping list if I were shopping now.

I have e mailed Shrockworks 3 times for a price on some srockworks rock sliders for a 2005. They don't answer. Wonder if they are still around.

Of course they are, they're really hitting their stride with new products.

Oh, and pay attention to the date at the bottom of the boxes to the left, you've posted in some rather old/stagnant threads. Nice that you're reading old material, but note just how old it is...

Yea, it seems the board is really old stuff, I was just trying to add some spark.
The 2005 is like totaly diff model and not too many posts on it. I hope that changes.
I finally got a hold of Shrockworks, they were very nice over the phone. I ordered the sliders for my 2005. Have dreams of a bumper and skids too, but have to see how this works out. Only wierd thing is that they charged my card full amount and the slides won't be here for a month at least maybe more. Most places do a dep on order balance charged on shipping. Not too hip to that deal, but it sure does seem to be the right stuff to get.

I plan on the front bumper also if it don't eat my gas and weight me down. Stick a Warn on it too.

Plan on some HD torsion bars if you get the winch, otherwise you will have too much front end dive on turns and braking. Stiffer shocks might be in the future too.

Thanks for the tips. Sounds sensible to me. I might take it a step up and do that work ahead of time and then the bumper. I was also looking at the Cal mini bumper. Not too many people (actually none) around here doing any Mods on Xterras, So I do rely on the tips and photos I see here. Great stuff and links!

Thanks for all the advice and tips. We have just put it on and it looks tough! It's massive, really well built. Schrockworks has it all - great product, wonderful customer service and it came with instructions!!!

Westin needs to tighten up. My fiance has a Westin bullbar and now he wants one of this to go on his tundra.

Just because I am female and drive a yellow suv doesn't mean I don't want it to be and look tough. So watch out if you are planning on hitting me on the front or backing into me, I won't be the one going to the shop next time!!!

Next up, the rear one when it comes out. I am sold.........

Thanks again, so much.

Going for a drive.

I also finally got hold of Shrockworks by phone easily. And I have installed my rocksliders. Again, they looked perfect out of the box and went on in about half an hour...Just like the instructions said! They look so factory i can hardly believe it! I wanna Bumper!

Did the bumper come with a skid plate.

Westin doesn't make a "bullbar". They make a brushguard that's good for blocking errant grocery carts.

Congrats on the Shrock though. :smokin:
